
TRANSFERS After a painful evening at Jan Breydel, Adriano Bertaccini has quickly picked himself up. The RSC Anderlecht forward was a decisive factor for the second game running and secured his side's victory at KV Mechelen last weekend. The match-winner celebrated exuberantly, making clear gestures toward the club crest and the supporters. It was a release after a spell in which he had been under fire.
Less than a week earlier he had already produced a strong substitute appearance against AA Gent, where he also scored and once again dragged his team along. Those recent performances contrast sharply with his display against Club Brugge, when he was taken off at half-time. Coach Jérémy Taravel then said the striker was going through a difficult phase. The weight of his price tag — he was signed for a substantial fee — had visibly affected his game. Within the dressing room, however, confidence remains intact.
