INJURIES Mario Stroeykens injured himself on Saturday against KV Mechelen. "A thigh injury," coach Jérémy Taravel said at his press conference this afternoon. "He will be out for longer than two to three weeks." Taravel added that Stroeykens must undergo an additional scan next week; only then will the exact length of his absence be known.
"Hopefully he can still play for a little while before the end of the season," Taravel said, sounding rather pessimistic. Stroeykens' injury increases Yari Verschaeren's chances of spending his final weeks at Anderlecht in the starting XI. "You wouldn't know he's at the end of his contract. He gives everything in every training session and will keep doing so. Yari wants to finish his Anderlecht story on a high note."
