GAMES After a frustrating Brussels derby, Jérémy Taravel offered a surprisingly positive assessment. Despite the 1-3 loss to Union Saint-Gilloise, the Anderlecht coach emphasized the quality of the play, both before—and even after—the red card that turned the match upside down. "We were the better team when we had possession, but we conceded two goals that were too easy. The red card completely changed the course of the game," Reduced to ten men, the Purple & White had to adjust their plan, but Taravel emphasizes that his team didn't collapse. On the contrary: they remained compact and disciplined.

Although a derby loss always leaves a bitter taste, Taravel refuses to give in to frustration. He chooses to focus on the encouraging signs heading into the final. "We showed a lot of movement in our play, passes between the lines, and strength in the duels. Even with ten against eleven, Union didn't create anything after halftime, aside from that goal. We have to view that positively for the future, and for the cup final, even though it's hard to say after losing a derby.”
