TRANSFERS As expected, 51-year-old Frenchman Antoine Sibierski has been appointed Anderlecht's new Sporting Director. He will take the reins of sporting policy across all professional teams and will also oversee the scouting and performance departments (first team, Futures and Women). Sibierski played as an attacking midfielder for Auxerre, Nantes and Lens, and later in England for Manchester City, Newcastle and Wigan. For the past two seasons he was Sporting Director at ESTAC Troyes; Troyes secured promotion to Ligue 1 this season.

CEO Kenneth Bornauw: "We conducted the search for a new Sporting Director very thoroughly. Antoine Sibierski fully meets the profile we set out. We were looking for someone with experience as a player or coach at the highest level, with proven sporting leadership and the ability to be close to players and staff."

Antoine Sibierski: "It is a great honour to become part of this prestigious club. I have followed RSC Anderlecht since my youth as the biggest club in Belgium, from its famed youth academy to its European successes. This is a club that must continue to harbour great ambitions."
