TRANSFERS According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Nathan-Dylan Saliba is on Freiburg's list of potential signings for next season. The club finished seventh in the Bundesliga and will play the Europa League final against Aston Villa this coming Wednesday. If they win this match, they will still be able to compete in the Champions League next season.
In addition to Freiburg, clubs from England and Italy are also reportedly keeping an eye on Saliba.
Saliba was brought to Anderlecht last summer by Olivier Renard. At the time, he managed to sign the Canadian midfielder from his former club, CF Montréal, for around 2 million euros. After a period of adjustment, the Canadian quickly emerged as a key player for the Purple & White, though he still has room to improve in just about every area. So far, in his first season in Europe, he has tallied 5 goals and 2 assists in 43 matches.
In principle, Saliba will also compete in the World Cup. In a group featuring Switzerland, Qatar, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, there may well be opportunities for Canada, one of the host nations. Saliba is usually a starter when fit.
