TRANSFERS Antoine Sibierski would like to build the team next season around Nathan Saliba and Mihajlo Cvetkovic, Het Nieuwsblad reports. The paper also mentions four targeted signings to strengthen the squad — a true number nine is not among them. Anderlecht should not count on Nathan De Cat staying. In recent months Saliba (22) and Cvetkovic (19) have shown they have plenty of potential.
From the current squad they are the players Sibierski wants to build on. But what if a good offer arrives? “With Saliba that seems more negotiable than with Cvetkovic,” writes Het Nieuwsblad. To strengthen the team, Sibierski prioritises four positions: an experienced central defender who can organise the side, a creative midfielder, and one or two quick wide attackers.
A classic striker is not a priority. Cvetkovic has shown considerable potential, and in the past two matches Danylo Sikan — finally free of his hamstring injury — has demonstrated what he can do. Anderlecht hopes both will continue to develop. Keisuke Goto and Luis Vazquez will also return; there is no future at Anderlecht for either of them, but as long as they haven't been sold the club will not do any business in that department. Finally, Sibierski is counting on the progress of several youngsters. In particular, Joshua Nga Kana (16) is expected to take further steps forward.
