OTHER That Anderlecht played a very mediocre season was underlined again today by the humiliating defeat at Union. Pro League statistics also confirm in numbers just how weak Anderlecht performed this season. Anderlecht played 40 competitive matches. Of those, only 15 were won (37.5%).
They lost the same number of matches, and recorded 10 draws (25%). It gets worse when you look at the goal difference: 59 goals scored, 62 conceded. Anderlecht finishes the season with a negative goal difference of ?3. Thorgan Hazard was top scorer with 13 goals, followed by Cvetkovic with 8 and Angulo with 6. The most striking conclusion is that Anderlecht still managed to finish fourth despite such a poor record.
