YOUTH 17-year-old Noah Kalonji has extended his expiring contract at Anderlecht by two years. The defensive midfielder, who is representing Belgium at the U17 European Championship, is now tied to the club until 2028. "Noah is a player with a modern profile who, thanks to his game intelligence, physical strength and build-up qualities, can play in several positions in midfield," the club said. Kalonji moved from Standard to Anderlecht in 2019.

In 2024 he signed his first professional contract at 15, which ran until June 2026. Two years have now been added. "Noah's contract extension is good news for the academy," says head of youth development Tim Borguet. "Besides his football qualities, Noah also stands out for his exemplary mentality and his dedication in daily life. We are convinced that by continuing to work with humility and patience he will be able to take further steps in his development," Borguet added. Kalonji himself is very pleased with his progress.

In a video on Instagram he said, "A lot has happened since my first contract. In the first season I played with the U16s and really enjoyed it. Last season I was with the U18s — it was a very good season, including winning the Future Cup. I was also called up to the national team and made a lot of progress. At the end of the season I began training with the U23s and got the chance to play two friendlies with them; I learned a lot from that." "I'm very happy to sign my second contract at Anderlecht. I feel there are many people here who believe in me and are ready to help me improve. My goals for next season? To make my debut for the Futures and, why not, to play at the Lotto Park."
