YOUTH Belgium have reached the final of the U17 European Championship. This afternoon in the semi-final they beat France 2-1. Anderlecht players Jayden Onia Seke and Ilyas Benktib scored the Young Red Devils' goals. With Mattis Seghers, Joshua Nga, Kana, Onia Seke and Benktib, four Anderlecht players were in the starting line-up.
After 25 minutes Onia Seke turned cleverly inside the French box and slotted the opener home. Shortly after the break Benktib doubled the lead with a neat chip. Shortly after the 2-0 France pulled one back, but inspired by a strong performance from goalkeeper Seghers the Young Red Devils held on. In the final they will face Italy or Spain, who meet tonight at 7 p.m. Seghers and Benktib played the full match. Onia Seke was replaced after 72 minutes by Noah Kalonji. Nga Kana was taken off in the 90th minute to be rested. Noa Cobiella and Rune Verstrepen remained on the bench.
