OTHER Whether talks are actually taking place between Toluca and Anderlecht remains unclear. Rumours of a personal agreement between Toluca and Huerta are also hard to verify, but that hasn't stopped the Mexican media from openly speculating about Huerta's transfer fee. According to Mexican sources and transfer specialist César Luis Merlo, advanced negotiations are indeed underway — yet the transfer fee is a sticking point. Toluca is reportedly willing to spend around €4 million on Huerta, whose market value fell sharply over the past year due to injuries, while Anderlecht is asking roughly €6.5 million.
Anderlecht would also have to forward part of the fee to Huerta's former club, Pumas. Still, the amount Anderlecht demands should not be beyond Toluca's means. The club is owned by a wealthy Mexican businessman and only recently won the Mexican Clausura 2025. Toluca has paid comparable sums in previous deals, such as for Paulinho (formerly of Sporting).
