TRANSFERS The future of Moussa Ndiaye remains unclear for the time being. FC Schalke 04 are keen to sign the left-back on a permanent basis, but are still waiting for clarity from RSC Anderlecht. Ndiaye spent the past few months on loan at Schalke, who did not include a purchase option in the deal. That means the two clubs now have to negotiate a potential transfer.

Talks have so far been difficult, but now that Anderlecht have their sporting structure in place with sporting director Antoine Sibierski and head coach Vítor Bruno, there appears to be movement again in the dossier. Anderlecht face an important decision. The Brussels club can include Ndiaye in their squad for the new season, in which they are aiming to reach the group stage of the Europa League, or decide to sell him this summer to free up extra funds to strengthen the squad.

Pre-season has already begun at Anderlecht, but Ndiaye has not yet been part of the group. His loan contract at Schalke expires on 30 June and, according to German sources, Anderlecht have not requested an early return. He is expected, however, to report back for training next week, along with other returning loanees. Meanwhile, Schalke remain hopeful of a permanent agreement, although the German promoted side currently have enough alternatives at left-back. As a result, the club does not appear to be in any rush to make a decision.
