TRANSFERS Nathan De Cat will be sidelined for around three weeks with the muscle injury he sustained a few days ago, Het Nieuwsblad and La Dernière Heure report. In principle, he should therefore be fit for the European ties against Hammarby. At least, that is if he is still an Anderlecht player by then, although that possibility now appears to be growing again. Both newspapers also write that sporting director Antoine Sibierski is doing everything he can to secure an extension for De Cat's contract.
A proposal is on the table, and it is now up to the player to make up his mind. In any case, no white smoke is expected before 19 July. That day De Cat turns 18, and as an adult there will then be no restrictions anymore on a contract extension. De Cat's current deal runs until the middle of next year. If Anderlecht want to get any money for him, the promising midfielder must either leave this summer or extend his contract.
