TRANSFERS Anderlecht have announced the transfer of Nathan De Cat to Hoffenheim. The midfielder, who is almost 18, had already made clear for some time that his preference was for the German club, where he passed his medical yesterday. Anderlecht say De Cat is the third most expensive outgoing transfer in the club's history. De Cat still had a contract until June 2027, but it had long been clear that this would not be extended.
He spent eight years in Anderlecht's youth academy before joining the RSCA Futures. He made his debut in the Europa League against Fenerbahce and would also go on to play an important role in the 2024-2025 league campaign, including scoring at Antwerp in the Champions Play-offs. Last season, De Cat truly made his breakthrough. He was named Young Player of the Year and voted Player of the Year by the supporters. He also made his debut for the Red Devils. In the end, De Cat played just 53 matches for Anderlecht's first team.
