YOUTH Anderlecht had until midnight yesterday to submit its Europa League squad lists to UEFA, ahead of the two-legged tie with Hammarby in the second qualifying round. The Brussels club must file two separate lists. The A list may contain up to 25 players and must include at least eight players developed in the club's own youth academy. There is also a B list, on which an unlimited number of young talents from the club's academy can be included.
For now, three summer signings are part of the purple-and-white A list: Giulian Biancone, Léo Pétrot and Lukas Ambros. There is still room for changes, though. Until midnight next Wednesday, Anderlecht may add two more players to the squad for the Hammarby ties. Those newcomers will be eligible to play immediately, provided they have not already featured in a European qualifying round for their previous club this summer. Under UEFA rules, players who have already taken part in a European qualifying round may only represent their new club from the league phase onwards.
