DAMES The RSCA Women secured an away victory in Amsterdam, where they defeated Ajax 1-2 in a preseason match. Despite a quick start by the home team, the Anderlecht players showed great control and efficiency to turn the tide before halftime.
The match got off to a fast start: Katja Snoeijs put Ajax ahead as early as the 2nd minute. The Amsterdam side dominated the first quarter-hour, but Anderlecht gradually found their rhythm and applied increasing pressure in one-on-one situations. After 35 minutes, the Purple & Whites deservedly tied the score thanks to a lob by Helsen: 1-1. Just before halftime, Anderlecht struck again: a play from the end line was superbly finished by Minnaert, who put the Brussels team ahead: 1-2.
After the break, both teams had chances, but Anderlecht remained solid defensively. The home goalkeeper had to make several saves, but Ajax also had two opportunities to equalize.
