TRANSFERS Anderlecht has officially announced the transfer of Luis Vazquez to Birmingham City FC. Birmingham will compete in The Championship, the second tier of English football, next season. The Argentine is making a permanent move. Vazquez, 25, joined from Boca Juniors in 2023 and proved to be a solid replacement for Dolberg in his first season.
The Argentine scored several important goals, including in the derby against RWDM, and helped Anderlecht to a win over Club Brugge in the regular season. In the past seasons, however, he found it harder to find the net and was loaned out to Getafe in January, where he scored three times. Vazquez played 99 matches for Anderlecht and scored 18 goals. We wish Vazquez the best of luck in England.
