The Brussels club paid around five million euros for the Czech midfielder, but the reactions from his home country weren't all positive. After his first real appearance in the purple and white, however, the debate seems to be dying down quickly.
Due to Nathan Saliba's suspension, Ambros earned a starting spot against Hammarby sooner than expected. The 22-year-old midfielder seized that opportunity with both hands and showed why Anderlecht was willing to dig deep into its pockets. He brought calmness on the ball, provided creativity, and added an extra dimension to the Brussels team's play.

Nathan Saliba is returning from suspension and brings, above all, a lot of intensity, physicality in duels, and stamina. Those are qualities that Ambros doesn't quite possess, especially when Anderlecht wants to apply high pressure.
Enric Llansana and Marco Kana are also vying for a starting spot. Llansana plays a key role in Vitor Bruno's pressing strategy, while Kana also made a convincing impression after halftime. As a result, the Portuguese coach has several players with complementary skill sets at his disposal, but he'll have to make some tough choices in the coming weeks.
A Missing Piece of the Puzzle? After his first start, Ambros already seems to possess the qualities Anderlecht has long been searching for. His technical skills, his vision, and his ability to speed up the play give the Purple & White more creativity between the lines. Moreover, he shows character by immediately taking charge during set pieces.
If he can continue on this path, Anderlecht seems to have found in Ambros a midfielder who can dictate the pace of the game and develop into one of the team's key players. His first real test at Lotto Park certainly suggests that the substantial investment may prove more than justified.
