The Pro League is not planning to simply take over the proposal. “The principles used by the fixture manager to draw up the calendar have been agreed in consultation with all clubs,” a spokesperson said. Consultations with clubs and supporters also show that there is little enthusiasm for football on Monday evenings. For many fans, a match on a weekday is difficult to combine with work and the trip to the stadium. And the alarm clock still rings early the next morning. The Pro League had already taken supporters' wishes into account by removing the late Sunday evening kick-off from the calendar.
