OTHER Anderlecht did indeed make earnest efforts to persuade Nathan De Cat to extend his contract. Het Laatste Nieuws reports today that the Purple & White tabled an improved contract offer on three occasions. The midfielder, however, did not take the bait and chose to continue his development abroad. So far, De Cat appears to have made a good choice with Hoffenheim.
Het Nieuwsblad knows that the midfielder has started every preseason friendly and is impressing with his game intelligence and physical presence. Hoffenheim will kick off the season on 29 August with a match against Cologne.
