GAMES Today, the draw for the round of 32 in the Croky Cup took place. Anderlecht will have to face Beerschot once again at the Kiel, with the co-leaders of the Challenger Pro League. So it is an immediate tricky away tie for the Mauves. If Anderlecht want to continue their strong cup run, they will have to be fully focused on 16, 17 or 18 October.
Croky Cup matches are now played over a weekend instead of during the week, as in previous seasons. It is, incidentally, not the first time in Anderlecht's recent cup history that they have had to travel to Beerschot. In 2019, Anderlecht won there 2-3 after extra time in the Croky Cup. The goals came from Nasri, an own goal and Thelin. Kompany had to go off injured after half an hour, while Doku came on as a substitute. In 2025, Anderlecht won 0-1 at Beerschot in the quarter-finals thanks to an early goal from Simic. Long before that, in January 2001, Beerschot knocked Anderlecht out with a heavy 3-0 win in the quarter-finals. Anderlecht still had a strong side then, with Koller and Radzinski. Beerschot featured former Anderlecht players Degryse and Haagdoren.
