GAMES Anderlecht face a stiff challenge. After the international break, the Purple and Whites resume their league campaign on Saturday with an away game at Cercle Brugge. That will be followed by four more trips on the road, meaning Vítor Bruno's side is immediately heading into a demanding spell. The Portuguese coach expects a difficult evening against Cercle.

Although the Bruges side have yet to record a league win, he is warning against underestimating their qualities. “They have clear principles of play and created three or four good chances against Club Brugge. So we'll have to take that match very seriously.” For Anderlecht, the priority is to stay in touch with the top group. The coming fixtures could play an important role in that regard. Bruno does not see the run of away games as a reason to alter his approach. “We prepare an away match in the same way as a home game. We want to keep using our own style of play.” According to him, the biggest difference is the backing of the crowd. On the road, Anderlecht cannot count on the full support of their home stadium, although the fans who travel are usually particularly vocal.
