Anderlecht is already out of the Cup. The Mauves were completely overplayed by a good Kortrijk, that won the match with 4-2. Kortrijk scored three goals in the first 30 minutes and thus decided the match rapidly. Read more »

A lot of people stayed home yesterday instead of attending the match between Anderlecht and OH Leuven. Due to the threat of terrorist attacks in Brussels, the game was also broadcasted live and for free on Telenet and Belgacom. Anderlecht won the match with 3-2. Read more »

Yesterday, the government decided to lower the threat level for Brussels from level 4 (the highest level) to level 3. This means that the terroristic threat is still serious and likely, but less imminent. The result is that more police officers can be made available for other duties. Read more »

Due to the terroristic threat in Belgium, the game between Lokeren and Anderlecht has been postponed. The reason is not any particular threat of the match itself, but the lack of available police offices. All available officers have been transferred to Brussels to hunt down possible terrorists that are still on the loose. A new date will be announced soon. Read more »

Let's start with the good news: on Friday Belgium beat Italy with 3-1. After conceding a goal after just three minutes of play, Belgium equalised 15 minutes later through Vertongen. An excellent second half secured the victory with goals of De Bruyne and Batshuayi. But due to the terroristic attacks in Paris, today's friendly against Spain has been cancelled. Read more »

Anderlecht and Tottenham played an excellent match on Thursday in the Europa League. For a long time, it looked like the game was going to end in a logical 1-1 draw, until Dembele scored with a shot in the upper left corner a few minutes before the end. Read more »

For the first time in history, Belgium has become the number one on the FIFA ranking. The Belgians beat Israel yesterday with 3-1 in their last qualification match for the European Championship. This victory allows them to climb to the first place. Read more »

Anderlecht is the best club in Europe ... in missing penalties. Since June 2011, the Mauves missed 33 penalties out of 77. In the Belgian league alone, it missed 24 chances to score from the penalty spot. Not one single club in Europe does worse. Read more »
