Who's in play-off 1?

Who's in play-off 1?

The last game of the normal competition has been played. Play-off 1 will start in the weekend of April 1 with the following teams: Anderlecht, Bruges, Zulte Waregem, Ostend, AA Ghent and Charleroi. They will decide who wins the title. Their points are divided by two leaving Anderlecht one point ahead of Bruges. Read more »

Weiler's assistants also stay longer

Coach René Weiler renewed his contract in Anderlecht yesterday until 2019. The club took this action to prevent Weiler from leaving. Several German clubs noticed his success in the Europa League and his first place in the Belgian league and were showing interest in the coach. His assistants homas Binggeli and David Sesa were also offered a new and improved contract. Anderlecht won trial against Jason Lokilo

The judge has ruled in favour of Anderlecht in their case against Jason Lokilo. The club demanded a compensation of 450.000 euro but will receive 140.000 euro on court order. The club had made a legally binding agreement with the player and his parents stating the player should sign a contract in Brussels as soon as he reaches the age of 16 (the minimum age in Belgium to be able to sign contracts). RSC Anderlecht announced the club will not move to the Eurostadium. The club finds their concerns were not sufficiently mitigated by constructor Ghelamco. Further, the high rent remains an issue. 'Swat' Van der Elst deceased

François 'Swat' Van der Elst has died tonight. The former Belgian international and Anderlecht icon suffered a heavy heart attack on New Years' day. Since then, he was in a coma, but he died last night. Van der Elst became an European football star in the 70s. After his career, he owned a snooker bar in Opwijk.  Read more »
