How are things with... Jorn Vancamp?

Jorn Vancamp exchanged the youth of KV Mechelen for Anderlecht in the summer of 2014. Two years later he was included in the first team. Like Aaaron Leya Iseka, he first scored high in the Youth League: seven goals in twelve appearances.

In December 2016, the striker got an hour of play against Saint-Etienne. This season he was on loan at the Dutch Roda JC, where he was alternately a basic player, substitute and bank seater. Although Roda relegated, Vancamp was still good for four goals and three assists.

In an interview with this site in early March, Vancamp showed himself hopeful about his future at Anderlecht: "After the game against Saint-Étienne, Anderlecht extended my contract until 2019. A sign that they believe in me. I hope that I can prove myself during the preparation for next season. It is and remains my dream to make it at Anderlecht. If it"s not next season, then hopefully after. "

Vancamp did pretty well in the Netherlands. As he himself stated: "With Anderlecht's Reserves , we played 90 minutes on half of the opponent, that is different here. In first team there are more physical contacts and it is hard work. This is real men's football with lots of physical duels, especially if you play for relegation like us. "

It's probably best that Vancamp can mature elsewhere for another year. Whether that has to happen in the Dutch second class is the question.Maybe a Belgian or Dutch first division team?
