YOUTH - INTERVIEWS Yari Verschaeren has spent a few hectic months, studying, exams, RSC Anderlecht's A-team and the European Championships for U21. But Verschaeren makes it immediately clear that it is tough for every young person who combines his studies with top sport. And he also realizes that he owes his debut to Hein Vanhaezebrouck.

"I got my chance in the A-squad and I grabbed it," says Verschaeren in Sport / Voetbalmagazine, "Also the fact that there were many injured players was in my favor. And of course, Hein Vanhaezebrouck, he has always believed in me and has launched me. I will always remain grateful to him for that. "

There was interest from other clubs, Verschaeren admits, there was PSV who insisted. "I went there with my father to listen. To see how they work with the youth. I actually felt too young to move to the Netherlands. There was also interest from other foreign clubs, and Genk and Club Brugge also knocked on the door. I never really considered leaving Anderlecht and I have never regretted it. "
