TRANSFERS Mercato authority Fabrizio Romano reports that Fabio Silva is on his way to Anderlecht. Silva is a Portuguese striker for whom Wolverhampton paid a whopping 40 million euros in 2020. Anderlecht will rent him.
According to Romano, the almost 20-year-old Silva has already given the green light for the loan. Anderlecht will take over his complete salary. The agreement will not contain a purchase option. Silva is still under contract at Wolverhampton until 2025. La Dernière Heure asked Anderlecht for a reaction on this message, but purple-white refrained from any comment.
Silva is a youth player of Porto, although he also played two years in the Benfica academy. At 18 and with barely any first-team matches at Porto on the counter, he moved to Wolverhampton for 40 million euros.
In his debut season in the Premier League, Silva collected 11 base positions and 21 substitute appearances. In those, he scored four times. The past season was less. Barely six starts and no goals.
Silva is also international with the Portuguese U21. In the current campaign for the Euros he scored six times in eight matches.
Anderlecht are set to sign Fábio Silva on loan from Wolves. Belgian club will pay full salary until June 2023, as @pedromsepulveda reports. 🇵🇹🤝 #transfers
