Musonda: "No other Belgian club than Anderlecht"

OTHER Is Charly Musonda throwing out a line to Anderlecht to return? On Instagram, he says he never had any intention of joining Zulte Waregem. "I never saw myself returning (to Belgium, ed.), my love for my old club Anderlecht is too big for that."


Musonda briefly trained with Zulte Waregem in early June, but after a while that stopped. That caused a lot of speculation. "I went to train with Waregem because they started a few weeks earlier than other teams. That gave me the chance to train in a group for stead of alone," he explained his presence at the Gaverbeek. "There was never any question of an official contract or trial. I never saw myself returning (to Belgium, ed.), my love for my old club Anderlecht is too big for that."

So why did Musonda leave after a week? "I felt a little pain in my left foot and chose not to take any risks because I am currently in talks with some teams. So the best option was to take a step back and get taken care of so I would be ready for my next challenge."
