Van Crombrugge: 'They told me it's best I leave'

It is no secret that Anderlecht's financial situation is very bad. Hendrik Van Crombrugge is in danger of falling victim to it now. "The board has to make strategic and political choices on financial grounds. Apparently I no longer fit into the plans," he told Tonight. "The board informed me that it is best for everyone that I leave."

"I have no choice but to resign myself to that," the captain continued. Van Crombrugge also did say that as long as he is an Anderlecht player, he will continue to give his maximum commitment to the club.

Lior Refaelov and Adrien Trebel also face a very uncertain future at Anderlecht. The two will be out of contract in June. According to Het Nieuwsblad, Refaelov will get a new proposal, but will have to hand in a lot. Whether Trebel will get a proposal at all is highly uncertain.
