TRANSFERS What was already announced a few days ago is now official: Konstantinos Karetsas is leaving Anderlecht and returning to Racing Genk. The 15-year-old midfielder will sign a professional contract at Genk.

According to Genk, foreign clubs were lining up to bring Karetsas in. Het Laatste Nieuws mentioned the names of Ajax and Manchester City. Within Belgium, Antwerp and Club Brugge were also angling for his services. But his choice fell on Genk, the club where he played until the age of 12 and grew up nearby.

"Konstantinos is a total footballer on the 10. With a very technically skilled style of play, he knows how to play the spaces extremely efficiently and adds enormous offensive qualities to the core," is how Genk describes the footballer. "Forcing forward play, a strong vista, high efficiency ... it is not for nothing that he already managed to secure his place in the U16 national selection as well."

"In November, he was named Player of the Tournament at the international country tournament in Val De Marne (with Belgium, England, France and Italy)," Genk also reports.
