Football Association thinks about Vercauteren as technical director

OTHER Former national team coach Roberto Martinez was also technical director, so the right person for that vacancy also needs to be found. The football federation prefers a Belgian to fill that position and for that, it comes to Frank Vercauteren, among others.


Vercauteren's last employer in football was Antwerp and that too from May 2021. Since then he has been in Russia with his wife and little daughter. But that is normally no obstacle to respond positively to the vacancy. Vercauteren also has the necessary experience as he was already technical director at Oud-Heverlee Leuven in 2019.
