Anderlecht drags journalist Humo article to court

OTHER Anderlecht announces that it will take legal action against Jan Hauspie, the Humo journalist who wrote the controversial article about the club's operation some two weeks ago. "The publication of these articles causes unequivocal damage to RSC Anderlecht," it reads.


"Indeed, by creating a false picture of the daily functioning within the club, it creates unrest among supporters, clients, partners, employees, (potential) players and the general public," Anderlecht writes on its website.

"The club believes that the journalist violated the legal standard of care and made mistakes when writing the articles. It is also not the first time the journalist in question has reported about the club in this way."

Anderlecht will therefore now summon Hauspie. "Anderlecht wishes to stress that it holds press freedom in high regard, as long as the legislation and the club's rights are respected," the message concludes
