Anderlecht loses Maël Debondt to Ghent

YOUTH - TRANSFERS With Maël Debondt, a first promising youth product has turned his back on Anderlecht. The 15-year-old left winger impressed at the Future Cup and is a Belgian youth international. Debondt will join Gent next season with the U23 in first amateur division.

Debondt, who turns 16 in May, has been playing for Anderlecht since 2017. Purple-white then took him away from Charleroi.

Debondt's departure is a loss for the Purple-White youth operation anyway. There are fears that the lack of clarity about the fate of Jean Kindermans will cause more youth products to leave Anderlecht.
