Saelemaekers and Doku can still bring in some money

TRANSFERS There is a real chance that Alexis Saelemaekers (pictured) and Jérémy Doku will make a transfer this month. That would be a good thing for Anderlecht. When purple-white sold these players, a percentage on a resale was included in the deal.


AC Milan bought a lot of offensive power this summer, which means Alexis Saelemaekers may (not should) look elsewhere. According to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, there is now concrete interest from Betis Sevilla. There is talk and a rental with an option to buy. The player himself would be quite happy with this. West Ham are also said to be interested. 

When Anderlecht let Saelemaekers leave for Milan in the winter of 2020, Michael Verschueren revealed in Het Nieuwsblad that Anderlecht is entitled to a percentage in case of a later sale.

Purple-white also had such a clause included when Doku was sold. Doku enjoys increasingly concrete interest from Manchester City. Rennes are said to be asking for €60 million. If City and Rennes reach an agreement, the same is expected to happen smoothly with Doku.
