1B - OTHER - 1B Soccer club Deinze was declared bankrupt today by the Enterprise Court in Ghent, after months of financial problems. The club, which became entangled in an acquisition dispute this season, was unable to pay off its debts. Hopes of a rescue by Luxembourg-based AAD Invest Group, headed by Doudou Cissé, proved unfounded. Despite promises to players and staff, the financial situation continued to deteriorate, resulting in unpaid bills and a transfer freeze, and thus bankruptcy.

RSCA Futures thus move up several places as all of Deinze's results are dropped. The 3 points are lost to La Louvière, Patro Eisden, RWDM, Francs Borains, FC Liege and Seraing. Zulte Waregem, Lokeren-Temse and Lommel SK lose 1 point.

On top of that, there is also only one relegater. So for the RSCA Futures (13), the world suddenly looks a lot better with Lokeren Temse (12), Seraing (11), Francs Borains and Jong Genk (10 each) all behind them.

For Thorgan Hazard, this is less happy news. He had normally made his comeback with the Futures against Deinze. It is possible that an extra practice match will now be scheduled to hasten his return. More news on that later.
