FC Liège opened the scoring through Diouf after half an hour. Anderlecht, who played cautiously, now had to chase the game. Engwanda eventually managed to take a point from Liège by scoring the 1-1 equalizer. In the closing stages, Ntanda was sent off with two yellow cards.
