1B - GAMES - 1B After two losses, the RSCA Futures were looking to break the losing streak on Saturday during their away match at Lokeren. Against a team that can still aim for the top 6, they played solidly but the defense let them down. Leading with fifteen minutes left to play, the Futures conceded three goals in ten fateful minutes, setting the final score at 4-2.

The constant changes in the defensive line are clearly hurting the defensive unit: four goals conceded due to a lack of coordination or mistakes. The absence of De Ridder and Tajaouart in midfield—they were made available to the first team—also weakened the midfield. Still, Anderlecht had a chance to win just before the end.

In a balanced opening phase, Anderlecht were the first to look dangerous following a quick transition. A deep pass from Wola found Dao, who set up Onia-Seke. His attempt was saved by the goalkeeper. Lokeren responded twice through the lively Brrou, who first forced Haentjens into a fine save on a close-range attempt. Moments later, he slipped behind the defense to set up Soumare, who headed wide. After that, the purple-and-whites controlled Lokeren fairly easily until Akomolede left his flank completely unmarked, allowing Anis Brrou to sprint toward the goal and blast the ball in powerfully. Two minutes later, a Lokeren defender held Onia-Seke in the penalty area on a cross from Flips. The referee called a penalty, which De Corte coolly converted.

After halftime, the U23s came out of the locker room with more intensity. They were much more present in Lokeren's half and were rewarded for it: Dao, set up by De Corte, made it 1-2. Later, Flips had a chance to make it 1-3 after a nice team build-up. The French playmaker found himself in a good position on the edge of the penalty area, but his shot went just wide.

Anderlecht seemed on the way to a much-needed victory, but within ten minutes, the defense let them down three times. First, Soumare broke through the defense too easily, and the striker—who trained in Neerpede—didn't let the chance slip by, beating the goalkeeper. Two minutes later, a player from the home team was completely unmarked at the far post to head the ball in. In the closing minutes, a clearance landed unluckily at the feet of a Waaslander player, who finished easily.

At 3-2, however, Anderlecht had two more chances to score the equalizer. A long-range shot by Dao forced the keeper to make a fingertip save. After that, Anderlecht's high pressing nearly led to a crucial mistake by Lokeren.

But it was all in vain. The Futures thus suffer another frustrating and avoidable defeat.
