1B - YOUTH After the end of the Challenger Pro League campaign, Anderlecht's U23s were given a few well-deserved days off. The break proved short: Jelle Coen's group is already back on the training pitch to start a series of friendlies that will serve as a testing ground for next season. The first appointment is this Friday, 1 May, with a trip to the Netherlands to face Jong Sparta Rotterdam; kick-off is at 13:00.
The match kicks off a preparatory programme in which the staff want to analyze the squad, try out different line-ups and give playing time to several young talents in development.
U23 teams no longer receive any special protection and relegation now looms, so every lesson from these friendlies will matter.
