TRANSFERS One week before the summer transfer window closes, Anderlecht have not yet completely finished their mercato. Despite several attacking arrivals, the Brussels club still has important gaps to fill through the spine of the team. Nathan Saliba's departure means a replacement must be found. Purple and white are therefore still keen to bring in at least one profile capable of adding stability in midfield.
In addition, there are still no proper backups for the defensive pairing of Pétrot and Biancone. That is why an extra addition in the centre of defence is also being considered, to avoid weakening the defensive balance in the event of physical issues or a packed schedule. On the outgoing front, Anderlecht still need to find a solution for several surplus players. Bertaccini, Stroeykens and Huerta, who is headed for Mexico, no longer seem to fit into the sporting plans and could still leave Sporting before the transfer deadline. Purple and white also hope to trim the squad further and free up salary space by offloading players who had already been sidelined.
