INTERVIEWS VTM headed to England for an interview with Vincent Kompany about the Red Devils and his experiences at Burnley. His period at Anderlecht also came up for a moment. "I still think it was two successful years. I think I am somewhat alone with that conclusion," Kompany told me.
To the question if Kompany found the joy of soccer at Burnley after his "rather sour" farewell at Anderlecht, Kompany replied with a smile and full of conviction, "No way sour farewell, no way. Being sour I leave to the others. It was absolutely not a sour farewell."
"I had wonderful times at Anderlecht. Sorry. I know there are people who like to see an embittered person and then they get a little happier from that, but that's not with me. I got to work for the club where I started playing soccer when I was six years old. I've been with Anderlecht for seventeen years. So nothing bitter, no. On the contrary."
"I do continue to walk a path that I super enjoy. What I do, I super enjoy doing. I keep saying it: in my analysis, we were very successful in those two years at Anderlecht, especially given the resources we were able to invest and the quality of the group. I was a bit alone in that view, but it remains my conclusion."
