Butera won't play this season

INJURIES Bad luck for Ethan Butera. The injury he sustained last week against Rakow Częstochowa is a tough one. Anderlecht announced today that the young defender will be out of action this season.


"Ethan underwent surgery on the knee on Monday. That went well," Purple-White reported. Nevertheless, he will almost certainly not play again this season. "The 16-year-old defender will now embark on intensive rehabilitation with a view to next season."

Butera has been one of the revelations at the RSCA Futures in 1B this season. As a left defender, he was a regular. He saw his good performance rewarded with a spot on the plane for the A-core internship in Crete. He impressed there too, until things went wrong in the practice match against Rakow Częstochowa.
