Will Frutos return to Anderlecht again?

OTHER It is possible that Nicolas Frutos will rejoin Anderlecht this summer. La Dernière Heure says that purple-white is thinking of him as coach of the RSCA Futures next season should Guillaume Gillet not stay on. However, no decision has yet been made on the latter.


The 41-year-old Frutos pitched big with Anderlecht as a striker between 2006 and 2010. Until an injury forced him to stop playing soccer.

In 2016, Frutos returned to purple and white as coach of the pledges. Afterwards, he advanced to René Weiler's staff. When the Swiss was fired in September 2017, Frutos got his chance as T1 for a few games. After four games, that adventure stopped because Hein Vanhaezebrouck came to Anderlecht.

In June 2020, Frutos became Anderlecht's assistant coach again. In February 2021, he submitted his resignation to become assistant to Hernan Losada at DC United. In December last year, he resigned from the American club and has been out of work ever since. Frutos is married to a Belgian and together they have a young son.
