BAS gives three points to KV Mechelen

OTHER The appeal process against the decision to have the stopped Charleroi - KV Mechelen match replayed has borne fruit. The BAS has ruled that the match does not have to be replayed and that KV Mechelen gets the points. As a result, Anderlecht can continue to hope to participate in the Europe Playoffs.


The decision leaves Charleroi at 47 points, Anderlecht on 46 and Cercle Brugge on 44. Both Anderlecht, Westerlo and Cercle Brugge had applied to the Federal Prosecutor's Office as aggrieved parties.

Charleroi was leading 1-0 against KV Mechelen on Nov. 12 when home supporters had disrupted the match several times with actions.
