TRANSFERS According to Het Nieuwsblad, a new, limited, capital injection is being prepared at Anderlecht. The extra money is needed to provide CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg with the necessary funds to arrange decent transfers.

With Anderlecht having missed out on European soccer again, it will not be easy to snare players, Fredberg confirmed earlier in an interview. Marc Coucke will again invest in Anderlecht, as will the partnership of chairman Wouter Vandenhaute and Geert Duyck. Coucke has already invested a lot of money in Anderlecht, but due to the confluence of several circumstances, extra financial resources seem to be the only way to make Anderlecht compete for a European ticket again next season.

Because of the extra money, Fredberg also wants to keep Debast and Verbruggen, unless there is a very high offer of around 20 million euros. Verschaeren's contract (until 2024) should also be extended.

Exactly how much money is involved is not known. It will probably not be of the same order as in late 2021 when Marc Coucke wrote off 51 million in debt, among other things
