YOUTH Amadou Diallo, an 18-year-old winger, signed his first professional contract with Anderlecht today. The youngster is playing with the U18 this season, but also tasted 1B a few times with the RSCA Futures. Next season, he will be a full member of the Futures core.

Diallo, born Feb. 12, 2005, started playing soccer at Crossing Schaerbeek. Via Union (2015-2017) and Zulte Waregem (2017-2018), he landed at purple-white five years ago. In October, Diallo made his debut with the RSCA Futures in 1B. Afterwards, six more matches followed, each time as a substitute. He scored once, in December against Beveren.

In March last year, Diallo played one game with the Belgian U17.

"A gift that the club believes in me"

"This shows the that club has faith in me," Diallo said in a video on the club's social media. "It is a proof that they have seen everything I have done for the club since the beginning. It's a gift that they believe in me. They are giving me the chance to show myself even more. And so, hopefully, reach the A nucleus."

"I am happy and proud to sign my first professional contract with Anderlecht," Diallo added on his personal Instagram page. "I want to thank my family, managers and friends. They have always supported us. From the beginning of this big story."

Kindermans: "Efficiency still up"

On the official RSCA website, director of youth training Jean Kindermans reacts to Diallo's first professional contract. "Amadou Diallo has been playing on the right flank as a left-footer for several seasons now," Kindermans said.

"He is quick, is strong in 1-on-1 situations and has a good shot on the feet. He is a real scourge for defenders. His trainers also praise him for his work ethic. As soon as he can further boost his efficiency, he will be a valuable addition for the RSCA Futures next season."

Fredberg: "Amadou deserves this opportunity"

CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg is especially curious about Diallo's further development, "We are very pleased that Amadou is signing his first professional contract with Anderlecht. Amadou has shown us this season why he is eligible for the RSCA Futures, he deserves this opportunity."

"The Challenger Pro League is the ideal platform to launch talents like Amadou and introduce them to professional football," Fredberg concluded.
