OTHER Anderlecht has announced Dane Mikkel Hemmersam as the new Sports Manager. He will work closely with CEO Sports Fredberg. Hemmersam will also become responsible for scouting and recruiting for the RSCA Futures.
Hemmersam worked as Head of Recruitment of FC Copenhagen's academy from 2014 to 2018. He then briefly acted as a scout before becoming the CO-CEO & Sports Director at FC Nordsjaelland. At FC Nordsjaelland, he managed to achieve good results with a very young team. The club became vice-champion in Denmark with one of the youngest teams in Europe. Thus, the Danish club also won the Ajax Future Cup. Hemmersam will therefore also become an important link in the transition of players from the Futures to the A-core.
According to Sporza, Hemmersam's appointment is separate from the negotiations with Jean Kindermans. These talks are still ongoing and are proceeding constructively, but no decision has yet been made.
Hemmersam: "I therefore feel honoured to come and work for a club like Anderlecht where that aspect of football is so crucial to the club's philosophy."
Fredberg: "We have been looking for the right reinforcement for the sports department for a while now. With Mikkel, we bring in someone with the necessary experience and a background that fits RSCA's DNA very well."
