INTERVIEWS Kasper Schmeichel did not go clear of a goal against as goalkeeper of the Danish national team on Tuesday. That led to a lot of criticism in his homeland. According to Brian Riemer, that does not bother the goalkeeper. On the contrary. "Kasper is more motivated than ever as a result," he said.
"Let's not forget that Denmark qualified for the European Championship and Kasper had a big part in that," Riemer said at his press conference this afternoon when asked about the events in question. "I leave the analysis of that goal against to the coaches of the national team. I focus on what I see at Anderlecht."
"Kasper is very important for us," Riemer continued. "He is back now and more motivated than ever. When he gets some criticism, it creates motivation in him. He wants to prove those people wrong.
"I'm almost sure he was much more concerned with that goal against than anybody else," concluded Riemer, who is convinced that Schmeichel is eager to silence the critics.
