"No plan to let our goalkeeper vince injury"

INTERVIEWS In the days following the game against Gent, there was speculation whether Kasper Schmeichel was vining an injury or not. Brian Riemer also received a question about this on his press call.


"I will have to send Frank a bouquet of flowers for that statement," laughed Riemer. "Obviously, we don't consciously think about such actions. What happens during a game ... Players can get into a situation where they need care in different ways. For a goalkeeper, that has to happen on the field.

"But it's not something we speculate on. It's not like we have a plan in advance where we say 'in the 67th minute you sit down.' Given the hubbub, it's not like I can yell at Kasper from the sidelines to sit down."

"To be very honest, I don't know what was wrong with Kasper at that point."
