"For the atmosphere, this was the best way to win"

INTERVIEWS What a relief! Not only players and supporters, even coach Brian Riemer heaved a sigh of relief after Luis Vazquez's late goal. "4.23 expected goals, more than 600 passes, 74 percent ball possession and lots of chances: the victory is deserved," the coach said. "Only the finishing was not on point."


"I have to give kudos to my team because they kept going for it," Riemer said after the game. "The crowd propelled us forward and we needed that. For my heart, it was better that we scored earlier, but for the derby atmosphere and the celebration afterwards, there was no better way than this."

"Obviously there are things that could be better, especially that counterattack from which the RWDM goal fell. Raman and Ashimeru (who both filled in, ed.) brought something extra. That helped us get the win."
