OTHER Anderlecht wants to bind Majeed Ashimeru for longer. The Ghanaian midfielder has many qualities athletically, but is often injured. Through a specific training regime, Anderlecht now wants to make sure he stays fit to the max.
Ashimeru still has a one-year contract with Anderlecht. Hence, there was speculation that purple-white wants to sell him this summer, but the club has no such plans, according to Het Nieuwsblad. The staff believes very much in Ashimeru's qualities.
Anderlecht now wants to extend Ashimeru's contract. He would not get a raise, but would get all kinds of bonuses depending on certain performances. In addition, the club wants to offer him a tailor-made training regime. For instance, he would spend more time in the strength room for muscle-strengthening exercises and visit the physiotherapist more often.
Ashimeru is definitely looking forward to a longer stay at Anderlecht. He wants to finally finish a full season and the club is also helping him bring his wife to Belgium from Ghana.
