YOUTH Nathan De Cat today extended his contract at Anderlecht until 2027. The 16-year-old midfielder will now also train with the first team, the club announced. ‘We are very impressed by Nathan's rapid development,' CEO sports Jesper Fredberg said.

‘Nathan is a very intelligent player,' Fredberg said. ‘We now want to give him the chance to train with the first team, to get him used to a higher level and to develop further physically. We share his dream: hopefully he can make his debut for the first team this season, while he will also get plenty of playing minutes with our RSCA Futures.'

The Cat himself says he is very happy with his contract extension. ‘It is the best choice for me to continue my development at RSC Anderlecht. I have already been able to learn a lot here from my first steps with the A-team. My dream is to be able to make my debut with the first team at Lotto Park this season.'

De Cat made the move to Anderlecht at the age of 10. In October last year, he signed his first professional contract, then until 2025. This season, he is a regular in midfield at the Futures.
